CIYOTA employs the following three strategic approaches for effective program implementation:
- Identify potential young leaders from vulnerable communities and nurture their development through formal education beginning with primary school;
- Engage and support the community to help students transition to and complete high school (only available outside the refugee camp) with a programmatic package comprising of accommodation; entrepreneurial and leadership mentorship; experiential learning and applied leadership and entrepreneurship through student-run community-based initiatives that address social problems and spur economic growth inside the refugee camp;
- Network with universities and other stakeholders to support high school graduates to transition to tertiary education opportunities that prepare students to return to Africa to drive lasting change.
CIYOTA focuses on quality education starting from kindergarten through university education. The organization runs two main projects: the primary school and the secondary school program.
